I waked up at 5:30 AM and arrive XinDien MRT station at 6:15 AM, started to ride at 6:45 AM. Something wrong with Tony's bicycle break so he had to go back home to change bicycle. This was a hot and stuffy day. The weather was too unfriendly to ride bike, so we had to stop before noon to prevent from getting sunstroke. We met more than 100 bikers from Big Apple biking club. As for as I know, Big Apple is the biggest and well organized biking club in Taiwan. but it is hard for me to imagine how to manage a biking trip with more than 100 participants. We had lunch at a HuYuan restaurant (http://www.coupon.com.tw/go26665367.htm) even though William and I just had fruit and noodle, respectively. I forgot what Tony and Carol ate but they pretty loved their chiken combo.
The track recorded by GPS as shown in the photo is very crazy and ridiculous, becuae of limited GPS signal detected in this mountain.
Trip 2) HsinDien-ShiDing-Guting

Total riding time: around 2.5 hours (something wrong with my cycle computer, so this is just estimated)
Total distance: 45 km
Eveybody had appointment in the afternoon, so I just kept riding from XinDien to ShiDing at 12:30 PM. I was actually planning to ride to PinXi but I gave up because of possible torrential rain after big thunders all round the mountain area.
I had BBQ Tofu with pickled vegetable, icecream spring roll with peanut powder and coriander leaves at ShenKeng. That taste pretty good, and thank to the boss of icecream spring roll for filling water for me.

This was a very short ride at YangMingShan. It started to rain before we finish walking trail loop at top of ChinTienGang, so this trip has to be stopped unfortunately. We met a group people accidently, one lady was a professional bike rider who is gonna ride from BeiJing to XinJian on Jun. 5. It seems that she is a very serious rider. Here is her blog: http://homepage.ntu.edu.tw/~d95521009/index.html , her Beijing to XinJian trip will be recorded here: http://candice1117.blogspot.com/ ning
This was also a very amazing route comparable to Wulai - TonHo. We expereinced moutain, lake, uphill and downhill in this sophisticated but quiet and clean environment during a round trip (23 km). We had lunch (the must eat - free range chicken, fish, vegitable, mushroom, fried noodle) at the very final end of this route. It was prtty much like enjoying a deep forest bath where fresh air, gorgeous view and diversified envoronment are fufilled in this little paradise. After the perfect trip has been finished, "Tea dinner" with tea, tea rice, oily thin noodle, fried tofu was the final highlight which made the whole journey fully completed. We all have consensus to come back here again since there is still so much to discover at this little paradise. Another nice thing was we had a new participant-Regine who is an old friend of mine. Thank you for joining and wish her to become a regular member!
What I really wish to try next time is to carry back pack with gas, water, noodle, etc. so we can expand the flexibility and mobility of our trips with no need to worry about when and where to find restaurant. This less civilized and self-support meal will also bring up a new taste of highlight where important ideas of our green biking - enviornmental protection as well as resource saving can be fully associated to.

Enjoied a Taiwanese movie "Island Etude" at Warner Villege Cinemas
This is a movie talking about a guy riding around Taiwan for 7 days, a deeper and closer observation on Taiwan has been obtained and recorded by bike riding. the impressive sentence in this movie "You will regret if you don't get something done right away" has touched my heart and motivated myself a bit to ride around Taiwan. Sorry to William cuz there is no English caption even though we were told that it must be available.
