the arrangement that 1 with 12345, 2 with 12345678, and 3 with 45678 might consider more on robust power than on chain linearity which is stronly related to chain durability. Less chain linearity will cause metal fatigue and finally lead to chain failure (limited chain sustainability). Sorry for I might put too much emphasis on material property..:) Another issue is how long it will take to train ourselves to reach the best arrangement by our reflex action at right timing. There is still a lot to learn and experience.

Ning, I am not sure if it is a good arrangement until I try it in the next ride. Theretically speaking, it seems to be good.
